Food For the Hungry

Since 2015, The Carsons have been artist partners with international missions organization, Food For The Hungry. FH focuses on feeding and educating the world’s most vulnerable by establishing sustainable communities.

The Carsons tell about their recent trip with FH to Nicaragua; what they saw, how it has impacted them, and their desire to share the vision of Food For The Hungry to help end extreme poverty.

In 2016, The Carons got to meet their own sponsored child, Ashly in Alemania Federal, Nicaragua. From the trip a fire started in their hearts to see Ashly’s community transformed through child sponsorship. One year later, The Carsons led 9 individuals to Alemania Federal. Each person on the trip was someone who sponsored a child at one of their home concerts. Each member of the team got to meet their sponsored child and participate in a group service project. A few months prior to the trip, The Carsons were able to connect Huntingtown United Methodist Church with the community of Alemania Federal. HUMC is now a sister church and is further aiding and developing one of the world's most vulnerable communities with the help of Food For the Hungry.

For this touring season, The Carsons have turned their attention to another community - Cosmapa, Nicaragua. They are currently focusing on child sponsorships and are working to secure another sister church through their live performances. The Carsons plan to return as soon as the political climate in Nicaragua allows them to do so.
